It’s an Italian word used in English. Stay tuned, keep on reading.
“Sforzando” gerund of the Italian verb “Sforzare ( To force) from “Forza” (Force) from the Latin “Fortis” (Strong).
It’s a term used as a direction in music and indicates a piece played with prominent stress.
There are interesting expressions used with the word “Forza” in Italian : “A forza di” ( by dint of), “Per forza” (Against one’s will) or “Of course!” (especially if it’s used by itself) and “Per cause di forza maggiore” meaning ” Because of circumstances beyond one’s control”.
I have to go now , I think “Per cause di forza maggiore”..
