Bucatini #266

It’s Monday everybody. Let’s speak “Pasta”. Keep on reading.

“Bucatini” it’s a type of pasta, a thick spaghetti with a hole running trough the centre. The origin of the name comes from the diminutive of “Buco” (Hole) from the vulgar Latin “Buca” (meaning “Mouth”, that’s why “Bocca” in Italian, “Boca” in Spanish, “Bouche” in French).

Italian expressions with the word “Bocca” include: “In bocca al lupo!” (Good luck!), “Non aprir bocca” (Not to say a word) and “Sulla bocca di tutti” meaning “The talk of the town”.

Now that you know go head and open your bocca for delicious bucatini..

Pier.
